A perfect example of how one establishment can make a big difference we would like to show you the efforts by The Plough in Cramlington Village. Many people donated money, gifts and time to a Music Festival in aid of the charity in July 2017.

Sir John Fitzgerald chain supported their brilliant Manager Kenny and his great staff with the fundraising weekend, it was busy and they worked their socks off.

Some incredible bands gave up their own time to come and perform Beyond Blonde and Broken Spoke rocked the Saturday night.  We were lucky enough to catch Alan Turner and Davy Page with their very talented friends from Stakeford Folk who banded together to form Snook for the very first time on the Sunday afternoon and went down a storm!  Dave Cowan who helped out at such short notice by playing some excellent classics in his unique way.  All of the time and effort these musicians put in is truly appreciated.

There were a core set of fundraisers during The Ploughs weekend Trevor Tomlinson and his colleagues at MSD Cramlington, Martin Tomlinson who skydived!  He's braver than us and did a great job raising sponsorship.  Lisa , Kate, Grace, Matthew and Keonie ran a tombola with all the very kindly donated prizes.  Thankyou to everyone who bought and donated including: Anarchy Brewing Company, The Black Sheep Brewing Company, Sue at The Four Ladies, Craig and his team at The Willow Farm and a very kind donation from Lorraine Simpson.

We actually had some people travel from afar to donate and play a part Carmel,  Ann and Mary T, thankyou.

And last but no means least a big thankyou to the people who contributed in anyway to making the weekend a huge success.  Locals, regulars, visitors, contributors through your kind generosity The Plough raised £1605 which surpassed the target and helped our amazing charity to keep the North East Heart Safe.  Cramlington Village now has a public access defibrillator and the charity have helped placed several in the surrounding area because of these efforts.

Gary Laws you are an absolute star for taking the lead.

Any community can do this.  If you want to see your own community safeguarded with a defibrillator this is just one example of how you can make it happen.
